Brassic’s Last Laugh: Sky Comedy to Conclude with Season 7

Brassic Series 7 Key Art

Brassic,” Sky’s raucous comedy about a band of misfits navigating the trials and tribulations of working-class life in northern England, is calling it a day after seven seasons. While fans might be mourning the impending loss, they can also look forward to one final, gloriously chaotic hurrah with Vinnie, Erin, Tommo, and the rest of the gang.

Sky confirmed that the seventh season, currently filming, will be the show’s swan song. Since its 2019 debut, “Brassic” has become a flagship comedy for the network, drawing in huge viewership and critical acclaim. It’s been a consistent ratings winner, handily outperforming other comedies on Sky over the past three years. Frankly, if this were a BBC or ITV production, we’d probably be talking about it as one of the best shows of the last few years, period.

The series, co-created by Danny Brocklehurst and Joe Gilgun, has earned a slew of awards and nominations, including a Royal Television Society Award for Best Comedy Drama in 2023. Both the network and the creative team have expressed sincere appreciation for the show’s devoted fanbase, acknowledging their role in making “Brassic” the massive success it has become.

Brocklehurst, in particular, seems keen on going out on top, stating a desire to end the show “while we are still riding high.” A sentiment that, while potentially disappointing for fans, at least suggests a commitment to quality over quantity.

Season 7 will see the return of the core cast, including Gilgun as the perpetually scheming Vinnie, Michelle Keegan as the ever-resourceful Erin, and Ryan Sampson as the delightfully eccentric Tommo.

“Brassic” Seasons 1-6 are currently available on Sky on-demand and NOW. Season 7 will premiere on Sky and NOW later in 2025.
