This Saturday, the real “BGT” competition begins. Forget the amiable auditions; the semi-finals are where dreams are made – and crushed. Eight acts step into the spotlight, nerves jangling, hoping to impress the judges and, more importantly, the voting public. Only one will secure a spot in the grand final based on viewer votes, and, for the first time, another will get a fast-track ticket via a live Golden Buzzer.
Ant and Dec are back to guide us through the inevitable chaos, while Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli settle in for another round of critiques, compliments, and possibly some bickering. The £250,000 prize and a coveted slot on The Royal Variety Performance are within reach, which ups the ante considerably.
