The Lake, Prime Video’s first scripted Canadian original series, is now streaming.

Set in cottage country, the comedy series stars Canadian Jordan Gavaris (Orphan Black) as he returns from living abroad after a break-up with his long-term partner, in the hope of reconnecting with the biological daughter (Madison Shamoun; Black-ish) that he gave up for adaption in his teens.

Justin’s (Gavaris) plans to create new memories with his daughter, Billie, at the idyllic lake from his childhood are jeopardized when he realizes that his father left the family cottage to his “perfect” stepsister, Maisy-May (Julia Stiles; 10 Things I Hate About You).

The half-hour series is created and executive produced by Julian Doucet, who has also worked on Hudson & Rex and Killjoys. Rounding out the cast of The Lake are Terry Chen (A Million Little Things), Jon Dore (Baroness Von Sketch Show), Carolyn Scott (Goosebumps), Natalie Lisinka (The Expanse), Travis Nelson (Tucker and Dale vs Evil), Jared Scott (13 Reasons Why), and Declan Whaley (Criminal Minds).

The 8-episode first season of The Lake was filmed in northern Ontario from August through September 2021.
