Candice Bergen is set to join Shrinking for Season 3, becoming the latest high-wattage guest star on the Apple TV+ therapy dramedy from Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, and Jason Segel.
Bergen’s casting was confirmed by Lawrence himself during a recent interview, where he flagged the news as a “spoiler”—though he didn’t elaborate on who she’s playing or how many episodes she’ll appear in.
She joins Michael J. Fox, previously announced as a Season 3 guest star, setting the stage for a run that pairs some of TV’s most iconic talent with the show’s established ensemble—Segel, Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, and Lukita Maxwell among them.
The series, which centers on a grieving therapist (Segel) who ditches traditional protocol and starts saying exactly what he thinks, has become a sleeper hit for Apple TV+. Fox’s casting was a full-circle moment for Lawrence, who’s long called the actor a mentor, and he’s already flagged his enthusiasm for getting Fox, Ford, and Bergen in the same room.
No premiere date has been set for Season 3.
