Inheriting a 500-year-old French chateau might sound like a fairytale, but for Daphne, it’s a real-life fixer-upper of epic proportions. Along with her partner, Ian, she’s tackling the restoration of her grandfather’s sprawling 130-acre estate, armed with their combined skills in carpentry, conservation, and landscaping.
On this week’s “Castle Impossible,” the couple turns their attention to a particularly daunting task: transforming a water-damaged room with zero existing plumbing into a luxurious “enchanted bathroom” fit for royalty. Having already ticked off a new bedroom in the Bell Tower, Daphne and Ian are clearly not afraid of a challenge. But with a limited budget, persistent bug infestations, and a seemingly endless list of renovations, the chateau continues to present a variety of hurdles.
