CBS Announces “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash” with Star-Studded Lineup and Multi-Year Deal

CBS is set to kick off the new year with a star-studded celebration as they present “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash.” The five-hour special, airing on Sunday, December 31, will feature live performances from some of country music’s hottest superstars. This year’s event marks the return of the show to CBS under a multi-year deal for 2023 and 2024.
The first wave of announced performers includes Thomas Rhett, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Lainey Wilson, who will all be appearing live from downtown Nashville to ring in 2024. However, there are still more than a dozen artists and special guests to be announced.
Executive producer Robert Deaton expressed excitement for this year’s lineup, highlighting the celebration of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s 50th anniversary and the rising star Lainey Wilson, as well as the country music sensation Thomas Rhett. He also emphasized Nashville’s growing reputation as the go-to destination for New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The event will feature nearly 50 performances spread across various locations in Music City, including a mainstage in Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. The broadcast will cover multiple time zones, with the traditional countdown and Nashville music note drop taking place at midnight Central Time.
“New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash” has previously seen performances from artists such as Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Sheryl Crow, and Miranda Lambert.
More details about the star-studded lineup and hosts for this year’s event will be announced at a later date.
The special is executive produced by Robert Deaton and Mary Hilliard Harrington in collaboration with the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. Sandra Restrepo will director the event.
