On Friday, May 24, CBS Mornings welcomes Ed Bastian, the CEO of Delta Air Lines. Bastian, a 25-year veteran of the company, has been instrumental in Delta’s long-term strategy and commitment to its core values of honesty, integrity, respect, perseverance, and servant leadership.
Bastian, who grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York, began his career as an auditor at Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in New York City. He joined Delta Air Lines in 1998 as Vice President of Finance and Controller and has since risen through the ranks, becoming CEO in 2016.
Under his leadership, Delta has become the world’s most awarded airline, receiving accolades such as the Wall Street Journal’s top U.S. airline and the Platinum Award for operational excellence by Cirium.
