On Friday, August 16, CBS Mornings welcomes actors Elliot Page and Hillary Baack to the show. They will discuss their roles in the film Close to You, directed by Dominic Savage.
Page, an Oscar-nominee for Juno and star of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, leads the independent drama as Sam, a trans man who has an unexpected reunion with his old friend Katherine, played by Baack. The film explores the nuanced and often tumultuous experience of LGBTQIA+ people re-entering a previously closeted space.
Close to You is a fully improvised film, marking a unique and authentic experience for both Page and Baack. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and has been praised by Page as a “spiritual experience.”
