On Wednesday, May 8, CBS Mornings welcomes Hoa Xuande, an actor making waves with his role in the 2024 HBO/A24 television series “The Sympathizer,” exercise instructor and author Robin Arzon, and passionate educator and disability advocate Jordyn Zimmerman.

Xuande, who is of Vietnamese descent, portrays the Captain in “The Sympathizer,” a spy for North Vietnam who finds himself with conflicted loyalties when he comes to Los Angeles. The series is based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name. Xuande’s performance in the series has earned him recognition as a 2024 Gold House A100 honoree.

Robin Arzon, a former corporate litigator, left her law career to pursue new adventures in health and wellness. She is known for her work as an instructor and Vice President of Fitness Programming at Peloton. Arzon has authored several books, including the New York Times bestseller “Shut Up and Run,” which aims to inspire runners of all levels. She has also been named one of Fortune Magazine’s 40 most influential people.

Jordyn Zimmerman, a nonspeaking autistic advocate, fights for disability rights and communication justice. Diagnosed with autism at a young age, Zimmerman did not receive access to augmentative communication until she was 18. She has since earned undergraduate and master’s degrees and has become a keynote speaker, joining numerous boards and committees. Zimmerman was appointed to serve on President Biden’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities. She stars in the 2021 documentary “This Is Not About Me,” which showcases her journey and her passion for education.
