CBS News is expanding its morning lineup with the introduction of CBS Mornings Plus, a live, third hour of its morning show. The new program will air weekdays at 9:00-10:00 AM ET on CBS-owned stations in major cities and will be simulcast on CBS News 24/7, the network’s free streaming platform.
CBS Mornings Plus will be hosted by Tony Dokoupil and Adriana Diaz, who will examine the day’s top headlines and explore topics such as pop culture, entertainment, health, and finance. The show aims to provide in-depth interviews and original reporting, building upon the success of CBS Mornings.
Wendy McMahon, President and CEO of CBS News and Stations, highlighted the expansion as a strategic move to leverage the brand’s strengths and grow its audience saying “We are building on the momentum of CBS MORNINGS and giving audiences more of the signature storytelling and differentiated reporting that they have come to expect from CBS News in the mornings.”
CBS Mornings, co-hosted by Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil, and Nate Burleson, has become the most competitive morning news program on the CBS Television Network. During the 2023-24 season, it has consistently outperformed its competitors in key demographics. The show features original reporting, newsmaker interviews, and in-depth storytelling from its state-of-the-art studio in Times Square.
Tony Dokoupil, a seasoned journalist, has covered major stories and conducted high-profile interviews. Adriana Diaz, a multilingual correspondent, has reported from various locations, including China and Chicago, and has anchored the Saturday edition of the CBS Weekend News.
The show is produced by CBS News and Stations for CBS. Executive producers include Wendy McMahon, Shawna Thomas, and David Rhodes.
