CBS, Wisdom of the Crowd Cancelled

Wisdom of the Crowd

CBS have decided to cancel Wisdom of the Crowd. The series, which stars Jeremy Piven as Jeffrey Tanner, sees a tech genius using crowd sourcing to solve his daughter’s murder in San Francisco.

Based on an Israeli original Wisdom of the Crowd has been performing only reasonably, averaging 7.4 million viewers and a 1.0 rating with viewers aged 18-49, however a bigger part of the story could be the fact, in this post-Weinstein era, that allegations made about Piven whilst he was playing Ari Gold on Entourage have affected the decision. Recently Piven issued a denial after two women accused him of misconduct saying “I unequivocally deny the appalling allegations being peddled about me.”

Recent allegations about Piven (right) could have influenced the cancellation but in reality numbers on the series have only been average.

Wisdom of the Crowd is the second CBS show to be cancelled following the departure of Me, Myself and I. Meanwhile both SWAT and Seal Team have been given full season pick ups and 9JKL given an extra three episodes.

No word yet on what CBS will air in Wisdom’s timeslot.
