The BBC’s Celebrity Antiques Road Trip returns, bringing its particular brand of antique-hunting chaos back to screens. Season 13, launching Wednesday, November 6th on BBC Two and iPlayer, boasts a lineup as diverse as a car boot sale, featuring reality TV schemers, veteran actors, and even a former Speaker of the House of Commons.
Leading the charge are The Traitors alumni Harry Clark and Paul Gorton, ready to haggle over trinkets instead of allegiances. Can Clark replicate his reality show winnings in the auction room, or will Gorton finally get one over on his former co-conspirator? Other pairings include The Young Ones stars Alexei Sayle and Nigel Planer, embarking on a reunion tour of antique shops, and Quadrophenia actors Phil Daniels and Leslie Ash, back together after 45 years.
The lineup also includes Gladiators Jet and Hunter, comedian Darren Harriott alongside TV presenter Anthea Turner, and the potentially volatile combination of former Speaker John Bercow and Olympic champion Sally Gunnell.
While some pairings seem designed for comedic potential, the show’s core premise remains intact: celebrities, armed with a small budget and an expert guide, scour the British countryside for undervalued treasures. The auction results, as always, are unpredictable, provide some genuine suspense to the lighthearted proceedings.
Celebrity Antiques Road Trip is a STV Studios production for BBC Two and iPlayer. Executive producer is Rosy Marshall-McCrae for STV Studios.
