Netflix is reportedly planning a second season of Celebrity Bear Hunt, the survival competition show hosted by Holly Willoughby and Bear Grylls. However, the filming location may change from Costa Rica. Filming is pencilled in for this Autumn.

Here’s the Lowdown: The show, which features British celebrities dropped into the jungle and challenged by Bear Grylls, has been reasonably well-received. The first series, available to stream now on Netflix, features Mel B, Joe Thomas, Big Zuu, Steph McGovern, Boris Becker, Leomie Anderson, Shirley Ballas, Una Healey, Kola Bokinni and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. Those who struggle on the tasks set for them are then hunted down by Grylls himself.

What This Means Now: A second series is likely, but the production may move to a new location. South Africa and Australia are being considered as more “stable” alternatives to Costa Rica, presumably due to logistical and safety concerns.

The Bigger Picture: The potential renewal indicates that Netflix is happy with the show’s performance. The reported shift in location highlights the challenges of producing a large-scale survival show in a remote environment, balancing entertainment with the safety of both the celebrity participants and the crew.
