“Celebrity Jeopardy!” where celebrities try to remember state capitals and occasionally mispronoue “Potpourri.” But sometimes, that’s exactly the kind of low-stakes entertainment a weary soul needs. And hey, it’s for charity!
Season 3 kicks off with a fresh batch of famous faces vying for that coveted oversized novelty check. This week, it’s Max Greenfield, Camilla Luddington, and W. Kamau Bell stepping up to the podium. Greenfield, best known for his role as Schmidt on “New Girl,” is playing for Wags and Walks. Luddington, the voice of Lara Croft in the “Tomb Raider” video game franchise, represents I Stand With My Pack. And comedian and commentator W. Kamau Bell is hoping to secure a win for DonorsChoose.
Now, the million-dollar question (literally) is whether any of these contestants can unseat last season’s champion, Hasan Minhaj. The bar has been set, people. We’ve seen celebrities shock us with their knowledge (or lack thereof) before, so who knows what surprises this season holds. Will Max Greenfield’s quirky charm translate into Jeopardy! prowess? Can Camilla Luddington channel her inner Lara Croft and raid the answer board? Or will W. Kamau Bell’s sharp wit give him the edge?
One thing’s for sure: Ken Jennings, back in the hosting saddle, will be there to deliver the clues with his trademark dry humor. Let’s be honest, half the fun of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” is watching Jennings react to the sometimes baffling responses.
“Celebrity Jeopardy!” airs Wednesday, January 8th at 9:02 p.m. EST on ABC.
