Bridget Christie’s menopausal misadventures continue in the latest episode of The Change. Linda, still residing in her caravan in the Forest of Dean, finds herself navigating not only the hormonal rollercoaster of menopause but also a full-blown women’s revolution that has brought the town to a standstill. The men, naturally, are not amused.
With the Eel Café facing a dwindling supply of its namesake ingredient, Linda proposes a radical solution: vegan mushroom eels. Agnes and Theresa, the café proprietors, remain skeptical, but agree to let Linda try her hand at creating this culinary curveball. Meanwhile, Steve returns from his Turkish sojourn sporting a new look, much to the bewilderment of his pub mates. One suspects his new aesthetic won’t exactly be embraced with open arms.
As Linda grapples with her own personal challenges – aided by the cryptic wisdom of Pig Man and his mushroom-infused pronouncements – she also finds herself thrust into the role of reluctant leader for the striking women. The Verderer, never one to miss an opportunity for chauvinistic commentary, launches a particularly pointed on-air attack, further fueling the flames of the town’s gender divide. Will Linda’s vegan eels prove to be a surprising source of unity, or will they simply add another bizarre layer to this already peculiar situation? Tune in to Channel 4 this Tuesday, April 1st at 10:00 PM to find out.
