The trials and tribulations of château renovation continue this Monday on Channel 4’s “Château DIY.” The series follows intrepid British families who have taken on the challenge of restoring grand French properties, often facing unexpected obstacles and tight deadlines.
At Château de Cadrès, Paul and Debbie are in a race against time to finish their tower stairwell before their first paying guests arrive. Will they make it? Meanwhile, at Château des Vieilles Vignes, Nick and Nicole are putting in the hours to complete their dining room for their son’s birthday celebration.
And at Château La Grande Maison, Ben and Billie face a different kind of challenge: preserving a 50-year-old wine barrel. It’s a delicate task that requires both expertise and a respect for history.
