Channel 4’s Chateau DIY returns, once again plunging viewers into the occasionally glamorous, frequently chaotic world of British families renovating French chateaux.
At Château de Bourneau, Erin and JB find themselves in a race against the clock. Their art studio, a project long in the making, needs to be finished before the arrival of local officials for its grand unveiling. Will they pull it off, or will the unveiling be more of an “unveiling of unfinished business”?
Meanwhile, in the Dordogne, Nick, Nicole, and baby Noah embark on a major overhaul of their chateau’s main living quarters. Expanding a family, it seems, also means expanding the house, and this renovation aims to give them the space they need. But with a baby in the picture, will they find the time and sanity to manage the project?
Over in Normandy, Donna and Paul face a different kind of challenge: windows. Specifically, 40 custom-made windows for their converted water mill. The installation of the very first window proves problematic, raising the dreaded specter of incorrect measurements. One can almost hear the collective groan of DIY enthusiasts across the UK.
Narrated by the ever-soothing voice of Adjoa Andoh, Chateau DIY is a show that celebrates the dream of chateau life while acknowledging the hard graft and occasional headaches that come with it. Tune in to Channel 4 this Tuesday, April 1st at 5:00 PM for your latest dose of Franco-British renovation drama.
