This Tuesday, the heat is on in the “Chopped” kitchen – but this time, it’s all about the veggies. “Carnivore Converter” sets a unique challenge for the four competing chefs: create meat-free dishes so good, they could convert even the most devoted meat-eater.
From the first round, the chefs must get creative. The appetizer basket requires the use of both dough and mayonnaise in their veggie-centric creations. Things get even more interesting with the entrée basket, as mushrooms must feature prominently in meeting the “meat-free-but-amazing” criteria. The final test? A dessert featuring a boxed brownie mix but hampered by that ever-present 30-minute time limit.
Can these culinary artists turn unorthodox ingredients into vegetarian triumphs? Will their creations satisfy the judges’ discerning palates? Find out when “Chopped: Carnivore Converter” airs Tuesday, May 20 at 8:00 PM ET on Food Network.
