Escargot pearls? Super-sized snacks? A creepy dessert ingredient? The culinary chaos returns to Food Network this Tuesday with a new episode of “Chopped.” “Snail Caviar Dreams” finds four chefs facing a particularly bizarre assortment of ingredients in their quest for the coveted Chopped title.
The appetizer round presents the first hurdle, a basket featuring those aforementioned escargot pearls – yes, you read that correctly – forcing the chefs to get creative right out of the gate. The entrée round takes a turn for the oversized, with a single, gigantic ingredient that may or may not be a blessing in disguise. And finally, the dessert round unveils a truly creepy ingredient guaranteed to make even the most seasoned pastry chef squirm.
