Christmas Cookie Challenge: North Pole Town Square

Is there anything more inherently festive than a holiday baking competition? The answer, of course, is no, especially when the challenge involves constructing a miniature, edible North Pole town square. This week’s Christmas Cookie Challenge looks to deliver a double dose of holiday cheer with its frosty theme and intricate gazebo construction challenge.

Four brave cookie makers will face off in a winter sports-themed showdown, tasked with creating cookies inspired by classic cold-weather activities like ice skating and skiing. One can only hope for some spectacular gingerbread triple axels and perhaps a sugar cookie biathlon.

After the initial flurry of winter sports cookie creations, the contestants will then turn their attention to the main event: constructing towering 10-foot edible gazebos. Expect ambitious designs and festive flavors such as peppermint mocha, pumpkin spice, and apple cider. Will these elaborate structures stand up to the scrutiny of the judges, or will they crumble under the pressure?

Food Network stalwarts Ree Drummond and Eddie Jackson return as hosts, ready to offer their expert commentary and guide viewers through the frosty competition. Their presence usually guarantees a healthy dose of both encouragement and gentle ribbing, which, let’s face it, is part of the charm of these shows.

The winning baker will walk away with bragging rights and, perhaps more importantly, a substantial advantage in the next round. Because in the high-stakes world of competitive holiday baking, every sprinkle counts.

Christmas Cookie Challenge airs on Food Network on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 10:00 PM.
