Is there anything more Hallmark than an animal rescue ranch at Christmas? Throw in a light artist and some family drama, and you’ve got the recipe for “Christmas Under the Lights.”
Heather Hemmens takes the reins as Emily, who returns to her family’s animal rescue ranch following her mother’s passing. Grief, heartwarming animals, and the looming holiday season – it’s a trifecta of Hallmark tropes. Enter Luke, played by Marco Grazzini, a former light artist now tasked with helping Emily organize a Christmas Carnival in her mother’s memory. Because nothing says honoring the departed like a festive carnival with, presumably, lots of twinkling lights.
Naturally, Emily and Luke’s initial interactions are fraught with the standard Hallmark tension that inevitably melts into romance. Will their combined efforts to create a spectacular Christmas event illuminate a path toward love? It’s a Hallmark movie; what do you think? Amidst the festive preparations, expect some manufactured conflict, heartwarming resolutions, and enough Christmas spirit to power a small town.
