Christoph Waltz’s Twisted Workplace Thriller ‘The Consultant’ Lands UK Streaming Launch on ITVX

The Consultant Key Art

Christoph Waltz brings dead-eyed menace and boardroom dread to the UK this weekend as ITVX drops all eight episodes of The Consultant, the 2023 psychological thriller from Amazon Studios, on Sunday, June 8.

Originally developed for Prime Video and based on Bentley Little’s 2015 novel, the series sees Waltz star as Regus Patoff, a mysterious corporate consultant brought in to “optimise” a mobile gaming company. What begins as a standard executive reshuffle quickly devolves into something much darker as Patoff’s tactics veer from eccentric to deeply sinister.

Created by Tony Basgallop and executive produced by Tony Basgallop, Christoph Waltz, Matt Shakman, and Steve Stark, the show leans into satirical horror, with Nat Wolff, Brittany O’Grady, and Aimee Carrero rounding out the core cast of employees forced to reckon with their new boss’s unsettling demands.

The Consultant is a high-gloss, genre-straddling piece that sits comfortably alongside the current wave of office-set paranoia (think Severance with sharper teeth). For ITVX, it’s another strategic U.S. acquisition aimed at beefing up their streaming catalog with buzzy, serialized content that plays well with younger audiences and binge-hungry viewers.

The entire first season drops in one go—ideal for weekend thrill-seekers and fans of offbeat corporate horror.
