Based on the iconic 1934 novel by Agatha Christie, “Murder on the Orient Express” is a mystery thriller that takes place aboard the luxurious Orient Express train. The story follows renowned Belgian detective Hercule Poirot (played by Finney), who finds himself entangled in a difficult murder investigation while onboard the famous train.
The all-star cast includes Sean Connery, Ingrid Bergman, Lauren Bacall, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jacqueline Bisset, among others, as a group of suspicious passengers and potential suspects.
The film was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for Sean Connery. Ingrid Bergman won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Greta Ohlsson, a Swedish missionary.
“Murder on the Orient Express” has since become a classic, known for its twisty mystery, exquisite production design, and exceptional ensemble cast.
