Colin Farrell Returns for Season Two of Apple TV+’s Sugar

Apple TV+ has announced the renewal of its drama series Sugar for a second season. Academy Award-nominee Colin Farrell will reprise his role as Detective John Sugar. All episodes of the first season are currently available for streaming on Apple TV+.

The narrative of Sugar presents a contemporary interpretation of the classic private detective genre. Following the events of the first season, Sugar returns to Los Angeles to tackle another missing person’s case, while also seeking answers regarding his own sister’s disappearance.

Sam Catlin will serve as showrunner for the second season and will executive produce alongside Farrell under his Short Drive Entertainment banner. Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg will also executive produce through Genre Films, which is part of Kinberg’s overall deal with Apple TV+. Farrell will be joined in the executive production team by Scott Greenberg and Chip Vucelich.

The series was created by Mark Protosevich, and the first season featured an ensemble cast that included Kirby, Amy Ryan, James Cromwell, Anna Gunn, Dennis Boutsikaris, Nate Corddry, Sydney Chandler, and Alex Hernandez.
