In the ninth episode of the second season of Come Dine With Me: The Professionals, airing on Channel 4, professional restaurateurs once again compete for the £1,000 prize. This time, the competition takes place in Essex, with the first night hosted by Stefan and his sous chef, Billy, at their restaurant, Toulouse. They serve up restaurant classics, but their starters of king scallops and goat’s cheese salad are criticized by a particularly picky couple. The evening also includes a light-hearted and competitive game involving body parts and a cup.
On the second night, the action moves to a traditional country pub, The Bull and Willow Room, where Kaps and Satin present their menu. They take a risk by serving salmon, which could either swim or sink their chances of winning. The atmosphere is tense, and Kaps’s brutal honesty and Satin’s love of fish and chips may throw a wrench into the works for the other chefs.
The final night belongs to Matt and Molly at the Shepherd and Dog. Matt, a premium chef, showcases his culinary skills, but it remains to be seen whether their efforts will be enough to impress the critical Kaps and satisfy Satin’s potential preference for simpler fare. With an evening filled with both laughter and tension, the outcome is anyone’s guess, and the £1,000 prize is up for grabs.
