JULIA is a delectable new eight-part comedy series inspired by famed chef Julia Child’s amazing life. Sarah Lancashire, David Hyde Pierce, Bebe Neuwirth, Judith Light, and Isabella Rossellini star in the series, which has a stellar ensemble cast.
The series will launch on FOXTEL On Demand on Sunday, April 3 at 8.30pm AEST.
The series stars Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) in the title role, David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) as Child’s husband, Franz Kranz (Homecoming), Bebe Neuwirth (Frasier), Fiona Glascott (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald), and Brittany Bradford (Broadway’s Bernhardt/Hamlet), with guest stars including Judith Light (Transparent) and Isabella Rossellini (Blue Velvet).
The series addresses a critical period in American history – the rise of public television as a new social institution, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity, and America’s cultural growth – through Julia’s life and singular joie de vivre. The series is essentially a portrayal of a loving marriage with a changing and complicated power dynamic at its core.
JULIA is produced by Lionsgate and 3 Arts Entertainment for HBO Max and is exclusive in Australia to the FOXTEL Group.
JULIA premieres with a special double episode on Sunday, April 3 at 8.30pm AEST On Demand on FOXTEL and on Fox Showcase.
