The Foxtel Group has commissioned a new Australian comedy-drama series called “Strife” for Binge, which has begun production in Sydney. The series is created by award-winning production company Made Up Stories in association with FIFTH SEASON, a global film and TV studio.
The cast includes the leading actress Asher Keddie, as well as a range of popular and up-and-coming Australian talent such as Matt Day, Jonathan LaPaglia, Tina Bursill, Emma Lung, Maria Angelico, Rhys Mitchell, Olivia Junkeer, BeBe Bettencourt, Bryony Skillington, Lucy Ansell, Darcy Tadich, and Willow Speers.
The show follows the journey of a modern and flawed woman named Evelyn Jones, played by Keddie, as she goes from a blogger to a force in women’s media. It is set in the constantly evolving world of publishing and digital media and is based on the memoir titled Work, Strife, Balance, written by Mia Freedman. The series is adapted for the screen by Australian screenwriter Sarah Scheller and directed by Stuart Bowen.
Executive producers for Strife on Binge are Bruna Papandrea, Jodi Matterson, and Steve Hutensky for Made Up Stories; Mia Freedman, Asher Keddie, and Sarah Scheller. Brian Walsh and Alison Hurbert-Burns will be responsible for Binge, while Lana Greenhalgh will be the commissioning editor. FIFTH SEASON will handle international distribution of the series, which is financed by Screen Australia and Binge with support from Screen NSW.
Strife on Binge is a commissioned series for Binge by the Foxtel Group and will be accessible on Foxtel as well.
