Forty years of laughs, good deeds, and red noses – Comic Relief returns to BBC One this Friday for a birthday bash with a purpose. Broadcasting live from Media City UK in Salford, the multi hour special brings together a constellation of stars for a night of comedy, music, and, of course, fundraising for important causes.
Davina McCall, Joel Dommett, Alison Hammond, Rylan Clark, Jonathan Ross, Alesha Dixon, Tom Allen, and AJ Odudu team up to steer the ship, promising a night of controlled chaos. Expect a mix of classic Comic Relief sketches, live musical performances, and short films highlighting the real-world impact of the charity’s work.
Comedy fans can look forward to sketches featuring favourites like “Strictly Come Dancing,” “The Gladiators,” “Not Going Out,” and “Beyond Paradise.” Music lovers, get ready for a reunion that’s been years in the making – The Sugababes grace the Red Nose Day stage for the first time since 2007. Add to that a “Rock Choir” rendition of Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know,” an 80s music medley, and the return of Billy Monger and Jamie Laing after their epic fundraising challenges, and it looks like there will be something for everyone.
So, tune in to BBC One this Friday, March 21st at 7:00 PM, have a laugh, and maybe even open your wallet. Donations can be made online here, by phone at 03457 910 910, or by texting FIVE, TEN, TWENTY, THIRTY, or FORTY to 70702 to donate £5, £10, £20, £30, or £40 respectively.
