The cat-and-mouse game between smugglers and border agents continues on Discovery’s “Contraband: Seized at the Border,” returning this Monday with another look at the creative – and sometimes desperate – ways people attempt to bring illegal goods into the country. The US-Mexico border, the busiest in the world, provides a constant stream of challenges for Customs and Border Protection agents, who must remain vigilant against drug trafficking, weapons smuggling, and other threats.
In “The Cookie Monster,” agents encounter a U.S. citizen returning from Mexico who is flagged due to an outstanding arrest warrant. Claiming to have swallowed 20 morphine pills to avoid going to jail, the man presents a unique challenge for the CBP officers. Meanwhile, another inspection reveals a suspicious shipment of car seat cushions padded with considerably more than just foam.
“Contraband: Seized at the Border” airs Monday, March 17th at 9:00 PM on Discovery.
