Contraband: Seized at the Border: Under Pressure (Discovery, Monday, March 3, 2025)

Contraband: Seized at the Border Key Art

The pressure cooker of border security heats up this Monday on Discovery’s “Contraband: Seized at the Border.” “Under Pressure,” the latest episode, takes us into the daily grind of U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents as they work to intercept everything from hidden narcotics to…exploding buses?

Yes, you read that right. This episode features a bus search that turns up contents with the potential to go boom, adding a whole new level of tension to the usual cat-and-mouse game between agents and smugglers. But it’s not all high-stakes explosives. “Under Pressure” also tackles the more bureaucratic – yet no less heartbreaking – side of border control. A family traveling from the U.S. to Mexico runs into a feathered roadblock when their pet parakeet is denied entry. And what’s worse, there’s a chance the bird might not even be allowed back into the U.S. Cue frantic calls to the USDA.

“Contraband” often focuses on the big busts, the drug seizures, and the weapons interceptions. But “Under Pressure” takes a moment to examine the smaller, more human stories that play out at the border every day, highlighting the detailed procedures and often absurd regulations that agents must enforce.
