The tragic murder of 26-year-old Elle Edwards, a social media influencer and beautician, will be the focus of the upcoming Crimes That Shook Britain episode on Monday night. On Christmas Eve 2022, Edwards was celebrating with loved ones at the Wallasey Pub in the United Kingdom when she was fatally shot. Connor Chapman, the perpetrator, fired 12 shots from a Skorpion submachine gun, two of which struck Edwards in the back of her head.
Edwards was rushed to Arrowe Park Hospital but could not be saved. Her untimely death left her family devastated, and they remembered her as “the most beautiful and bright star.” The senseless act of violence that took Edwards’ life also injured several others, as Chapman targeted rival gang members Kieran Salkeld and Jake Duffy due to a feud.
The subsequent trial saw Chapman convicted of multiple charges, including the murder of Edwards, attempted murder, assault, wounding with intent, and possession of a gun and ammunition. In July 2023, a jury found him guilty, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 48 years.
