In this episode of Critter Fixers: Country Vets, airing on National Geographic Wild, viewers will join the dynamic duo of veterinarians, Drs. Vernard Hodges and Terrence Ferguson, as they take their expertise to Zoo Atlanta. The episode, titled “If the Zoo Fits,” promises to offer fascinating insights into the world of veterinary medicine and wildlife care.
The Critter Fixer Veterinary Hospital, owned and operated by Drs. Hodges and Ferguson, has become a bustling hub of animal care, treating a diverse range of creatures, from cats and dogs to pigs and ducks. Located in Bonaire, Georgia, the hospital serves the Bonaire/Warner Robins area as the only veterinary clinic offering digital radiography.
The two veterinarians, with a passion for mentoring and inspiring the next generation, created the Vet for a Day program to introduce children to the world of veterinary medicine. Through this initiative, they hope to encourage more young people, especially those from minority backgrounds, to pursue careers in the field.
In this episode, Drs. Hodges and Ferguson take their knowledge and skills to Zoo Atlanta, where they will collaborate with the zoo’s veterinary team and gain hands-on experience with a variety of exotic animals. The episode will showcase the dedication and hard work of these veterinarians as they continue their mission to provide compassionate and high-quality care to animals of all shapes and sizes.
