The Curse of Oak Island: Barreling Forward (History, Tuesday, April 8, 2025)

The Curse of Oak Island Key Art

The seemingly endless quest for buried treasure on Oak Island continues, and this week, the Lagina brothers and their team might be closer than ever. In “Barreling Forward,” they’re taking a big swing, literally, by digging a massive steel shaft in the Money Pit area. Could this be the breakthrough they’ve been chasing for over a decade?

The History Channel’s synopsis is, as usual, vague, but hints at a find that could validate the centuries-old legends of buried riches. This is no small thing. Oak Island has lured treasure hunters for over 220 years, even drawing in the likes of Franklin D. Roosevelt back in his pre-presidential days. Theories about what lies beneath the surface range from pirate gold to priceless religious artifacts.

The Laginas, however, have poured more time, money, and sweat into this mystery than most. They’ve faced countless obstacles, engineering failures, and the ever-present “curse” that supposedly plagues anyone who dares disturb the island’s secrets. But the episode title suggests they’re not giving up. “Barreling Forward” implies momentum, a sense of purpose that keeps them digging, even when the odds seem stacked against them. Will this finally be their moment of triumph? Regular viewers may well say no it’s probably another chunk of wood. Tune in to History on Tuesday, April 8th at 9:00 PM ET/PT to find out.
