Just when you thought you’d seen every flavor of customer service meltdown, A&E’s Customer Wars returns with a fresh batch of screaming matches, public freakouts, and enough awkward tension to fuel a thousand therapy sessions. This week’s episode, “Flying Plates and Punches,” lives up to its name, delivering a whirlwind tour of truly unhinged behavior.
From a late-night diner brawl in Florida (apparently, some folks take their breakfast orders very seriously) to a seating dispute at a Utah airport that requires police intervention, the show offers a cringeworthy yet strangely compelling look at the breaking point of human civility. We also cross the pond to the UK, where a delivery driver’s ill-advised social media bragging goes viral for all the wrong reasons. And in Brazil, a man with a mallet decides a cell phone store needs some impromptu renovations, resulting in, shall we say, a less-than-satisfied customer experience.
But the real “what the heck” moment comes courtesy of an Oklahoma hotel caught in the path of a tornado. As guests and staff scramble for safety, the usual customer complaints take a backseat to the raw forces of nature. It’s a sudden shift in perspective that underscores the absurdity of some of the previous squabbles.
Customer Wars airs Tuesday, February 11th at 10:30 PM ET on A&E.
