The CW Rolls Out Six Harlequin-Inspired Romance Movies for Fall 2025

The CW

The CW is betting big on romance this fall, adapting six of Harlequin’s best-selling novels into original TV movies with a primetime rollout across its schedule.

Leading the slate is Montana Mavericks, starring Katherine McNamara, who returns to the network after Walker: Independence. The film will get a two-day theatrical preview via Fathom Events on Monday, August 26, 2025, and Tuesday, August 27, 2025, ahead of its broadcast premiere.

Montana Mavericks follows a big-city writer who inherits a ranch and clashes with a local vet, played by Dennis Andres. Linda Kee and Kaya Coleman also star.

CW exec Heather Olander calls the lineup a celebration for romance fans. The network is positioning these titles to build on the strong viewership gains it’s seen with recent made-for-TV offerings.
