The CW Network has revealed its spring schedule, featuring the debut of Sherlock & Daughter and the return of Sullivan’s Crossing and Children Ruin Everything. These shows begin airing from mid-April.
Here’s the Lowdown: Sherlock & Daughter, starring David Thewlis as Sherlock Holmes, premieres on Wednesday, April 16 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. This new mystery series sees Holmes working with a young American woman, Amelia (Blu Hunt), who may be his daughter. Sullivan’s Crossing, with Morgan Kohan, Chad Michael Murray, and Scott Patterson, returns for its third season on Wednesday, May 7 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. Children Ruin Everything, starring Meaghan Rath and Aaron Abrams, begins its fourth and final season with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, June 18, starting at 9:00 PM ET/PT. A one-hour special, Remarkable Women, airs on Sunday, April 20 at 9:00 PM ET/PT, celebrating inspirational women across the country.
What This Means Now: The CW’s spring lineup presents a mix of fresh content and returning favorites. Viewers can look forward to a new take on the Sherlock Holmes story, more drama from the popular Sullivan’s Crossing, and the final episodes of the family comedy Children Ruin Everything.
The Bigger Picture: The addition of Sherlock & Daughter, with its established star power (Thewlis, and Dougray Scott as Moriarty) and familiar premise, represents a significant new series for The CW. The return of Sullivan’s Crossing indicates the continued success of the adaptation of Robyn Carr’s novels. The conclusion of Children Ruin Everything marks the end of a popular family-focused series. The one-off Remarkable Women is a chance for the station to feature the good work done across the country.
