Dancing with the Stars returns for its 33rd season, and the premiere will be dazzling display of talent and entertainment. Airing on ABC and simulcast live across time zones on Disney+, with next-day streaming on Hulu, this season’s first live performance is set to impress. With a star-studded celebrity lineup and an energetic opening number, the season kicks off with a bang.
The co-hosts, Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, introduce 13 new celebrities, each paired with a professional ballroom dancer. The duos will take on a range of dance styles, including the Tango, Cha-Cha, Salsa, Foxtrot, and Jive, for their first performance.
Among the celebrities taking part are Super Bowl Champion Danny Amendola, fashion entrepreneur Anna Delvey (whose appearance on the show has been creating quite the controversy), TV icon Tori Spelling, and Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik. Each pair will perform to a unique song choice, adding their own flair and interpretation to the dance.
Danny Amendola and Witney Carson will heat up the ballroom with a Tango to “A Bar Song (Tipsy) [Remix]” by Shaboozey & David Guetta. Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov will bring elegance and grace to the floor with a Foxtrot routine set to P!nk’s “Trustfall.”
The judges for this season include ballroom experts Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough, who will provide their insightful critiques and scores. However, the power to keep the couples in the competition also lies with the viewers at home.
During the live simulcast in the ET/CT time zones, fans can vote online via dwtsvote.abc.com, and those in participating U.S. wireless carrier areas can also cast their votes via SMS/text. The live viewer votes from the first two weeks will be combined with the judges’ scores to determine which couples may be at risk of elimination.
Dancing with the Stars, Season 33, premieres Tuesday, September 17, at 8:00 p.m. EDT/7:00 p.m. CDT on ABC and Disney+. It will also be available for streaming the next day on Hulu.
