Fatal Crossing (Pigerne fra Englandsbåden), a Danish mystery-crime drama series, is set to premiere in North America on Tuesday, June 10. The show, based on Lone Theils’ novel of the same name, will be available exclusively on MHz Choice and its digital platforms, including MHz Choice on Prime Video Channels.

Here’s the Lowdown: The series stars Marie Sandø Jondal (Follow the Money, The Marco Effect) as Nora Sand, a Danish journalist working in London. After a scandal involving an alleged affair with a source, Nora is suspended and returns to her childhood home. However, an anonymous tip about a cold case – two girls who disappeared from a Denmark-to-England ferry in the 1980s – pulls her back into investigative work.

What This Means Now: Fans of Scandinavian crime dramas have a new series to look forward to. Fatal Crossing presents a complex mystery with a disgraced protagonist seeking redemption through solving a decades-old disappearance. The connection to a notorious serial killer, William Hix (played by Ian Burns), adds extra intrigue.

The Bigger Picture: The eight-episode series explores themes of professional downfall, personal redemption, and the persistence of unsolved mysteries. As Nora works through the cold case, uncovering more clues, she finds herself in danger, suspecting another killer is tracking her. The show also stars Jesper Hagelskær Paasch, Bue Wandahl, Siir Tilif, Susan A. Olsen, Anna Stokholm and Viktor Hjelmsø. The premiere date is set for Tuesday, June 10.
