Investigation Discovery one off Dark & Stormy Deeds, looks at the murder of Brad Dodd and the subsequent conviction of his wife, Shaunna Leann Dodd. In August 2013, Shaunna reported that intruders had broken into their home, robbed her, and fatally shot her husband. However, her story unraveled when police discovered a web of lies and deceit, ultimately leading to her conviction for first-degree murder.
On the night of the murder, Shaunna initially claimed that an unknown intruder had invaded their home, robbed her, and then fled the scene after shooting her husband. However, the investigation took a turn when a witness came forward, revealing that Shaunna had confessed to the murder. It was then uncovered that Shaunna had been plotting her husband’s death for months, even considering hiring a hitman and poisoning him.
The evidence against Shaunna mounted, and she was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The court also handed her an additional 20 years for a weapon enhancement charge.
