Lifetime is tackling the dark corners of the internet with its latest movie, Dateless to Dangerous: My Son’s Secret Life, starring Jodie Sweetin. The film, which premieres Saturday at 8:00 PM ET, wades into the murky waters of the incel subculture, framing the issue through the lens of a mother’s growing concern for her son.
Sweetin plays Noelle, a parent who begins to notice troubling changes in her son, Miles, played by Alexander Elliot. As Miles becomes more withdrawn and isolated, Noelle discovers he has been drawn into a dangerous online world of involuntary celibates, a community fueled by resentment and social alienation. The movie follows her desperate attempts to understand the forces shaping her son’s identity and pull him back from the brink before he is consumed by the group’s toxic ideology.
Directed by Stefan Brogren from a script by Caitlin English, Edmund Entin, and Gary Entin, the film also features Nikki Roumel as Haley. Dateless to Dangerous aims to put a human face on a digital phenomenon, exploring the real-world consequences of online radicalization.
Dateless to Dangerous: My Son’s Secret Life is produced by FOX Entertainment Studios and Neshama Entertainment.
