Dateline is heading back to Horry County, South Carolina, with Return to the Landing, a new Saturday night installment reexamining the high-profile disappearance of Heather Elvis. The two-hour episode airs May 31 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on NBC.
Dateline correspondent Andrea Canning reports on the 2013 missing persons case that gripped the Southeast and eventually led to separate convictions for a husband and wife—Tammy and Sidney Moorer—on charges of kidnapping and conspiracy. Heather, then 20 years old, vanished on December 18, 2013. Her body has never been found.
The special revisits the case through interviews with Heather’s parents Debbi and Terry Elvis and sister Morgan Elvis, alongside a timeline of the investigation and legal aftermath.
