Dave Order Gameshow BATTLE IN THE BOX Based on a Korean Format

UKTV has announced a new comedy gameshow called Battle in The Box for entertainment channel Dave and streaming service UKTV Play. The series, produced by Interstellar, is based on a popular Korean format and will be hosted by Jimmy Carr.
What is Battle in the Box about
Battle in the Box features pairs of comedians and beloved celebrities competing for pride, prizes, and floorspace. The eight-episode series consists of four intense double bills where eight pairs will spend 24 hours in a completely empty box.
Once the clock starts, two celebrity teams will enter the box divided by a movable wall and armed only with a toothbrush. They will have no beds, tables, chairs, or home comforts, relying solely on cameras and each other for company. Throughout the day and night, they must earn everything through a series of physical and mental challenges set by Jimmy Carr. Winning a game grants the winners more space and luxuries, while the sliding wall forces the losers into a shrinking area. With games taking place at all hours, the tide can turn at any moment.
Jimmy Carr says
“We all know comedians are at their best when they’re tired, hungry and lacking the most basic of human comforts. So, I can’t wait to see how they’ll fare in the box, with space at a premium and cameras watching their every move. What could possibly go right?”
Battle in the Box will provide a unique and challenging experience for notable figures in comedy, television, and entertainment, testing their endurance and resourcefulness.
Who is making the series
The series is commissioned for Dave and UKTV by Mark Iddon, senior commissioning editor, and Jason Dawson, commissioning executive. Cherie Hall, channel director, and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning, ordered the show for Dave. Interstellar serves as the production company, with Jamie Ormerod and David Williams as executive producers, and Tom Corrigan as the series producer.
Filming will commence next month, and the contestants will be announced closer to the show’s broadcast.
