It was also the only newscast to gain viewers compared to last week and to the same time last year.

Here’s the Lowdown: World News Tonight attracted 8.299 million total viewers, 1.557 million more than NBC Nightly News and 3.828 million more than CBS Evening News. The ABC broadcast also led in the key Adults 25-54 (1.236 million) and Adults 18-49 (871,000) demographics. The lead over NBC in total viewers was the largest in two months.
