“Days of Our Lives” continues its tradition of tangled relationships and shocking reveals this Thursdays, and let’s just say a few couples might want to invest in some fire extinguishers (or maybe good divorce lawyers).
First up, Philip Kiriakis and Stephanie Johnson are apparently fans of the accelerated romance track. After the DiMera party (because where else would romance bloom in Salem?), these two head home for some quality time. One can only hope they’ve at least cleared out the cobwebs and hidden the family portraits before things get too heated.
Meanwhile, Gabi Hernandez and JJ Deveraux are also feeling the spark. Following their own post-party pilgrimage, Gabi extends an invitation JJ apparently can’t refuse. Overnight stays in Salem rarely go as planned. This one could go anywhere from a sweet, if slightly impulsive, connection to a full-blown, multi-episode misunderstanding.
And then there’s Belle Black, who’s flirting with danger in the form of EJ DiMera. Things are getting cozy between these two, but Belle’s got a secret: she’s the new District Attorney. This probably seems insignificant in a town where people routinely return from the dead, but you know, legal ethics and all that. This omission of key professional details seems destined to backfire spectacularly.
Finally, the bomb waiting to detonate in Johnny DiMera and Chanel Dupree DiMera’s marriage is about to go off. Remember that one-night stand Johnny had with Joy Wesley? Yeah, that’s coming out. Expect Chanel to stumble upon a less-than-friendly chat between Johnny and Joy, leading to a series of flashbacks that lay bare the details of Johnny’s drunken indiscretion. Suffice it to say, marital bliss is not on the menu for these two anytime soon.
As if all that weren’t enough, Alex Kiriakis, still nursing a broken heart over Stephanie, will find temporary comfort (and probably a rebound) with Joy, who’s likely wrestling with a healthy dose of guilt over the whole affair.
“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on Peacock.
