Days of Our Lives Monday November 18 Recap: “Mysterious Cupcakes and Premiere Day Drama”

Salem, that hotbed of poisoned baked goods and questionable life choices, served up another heaping helping of drama on Monday’s Days of Our Lives. Remember last year’s biscuit debacle? Well, someone’s decided to up the ante with “Body & Soul” themed cupcakes. Naturally, chaos ensued.

Bonnie, understandably traumatized by past pastry-related perils, immediately eyed the sugary treats with suspicion. Her Spidey-senses (or perhaps just her common sense) tingling, she promptly tossed Alex’s cupcake. Alex, either blissfully ignorant or possessing a cast-iron stomach, fished it out of the trash and chowed down. Let’s just say I wouldn’t bet on him making it to the next episode unscathed.

Meanwhile, EJ, ever the paragon of fatherly advice, urged Johnny to keep his tryst with Joy under wraps. This, of course, made for some delightfully awkward viewing as Joy joined Johnny and Chanel for the “Body & Soul” premiere. The tension was thicker than the buttercream frosting on those ominous cupcakes.

Elsewhere in Salem, love was in the air (or at least, on Leo and Javi’s couch) as the pair snuggled up for the premiere. But Javi’s surreptitious peek at Leo’s laptop suggests a potential storm brewing in paradise. Snooping? Really, Javi? Haven’t we learned anything from Salem’s past?

And the drama didn’t stop there. Paulina confronted EJ about Johnny’s less-than-stellar treatment of Chanel. Abe, after celebrating “Body & Soul’s” initial success, became mysteriously ill after indulging in a cupcake. Coincidence? I think not. And to top it all off, a Lady Whistleblower copycat emerged online, spilling “Body & Soul” spoilers faster than a leaky pastry bag. Leo, for one, was less than thrilled.
