Days of Our Lives Thursday December 5 Recap

Salem was awash in a potent cocktail of grief, suspicion, and corporate shenanigans in Thursday’s Days of Our Lives. While the town mourned a beloved figure, a newcomer with a familiar name stirred up trouble, and a power struggle at Titan reached a fever pitch.

Let’s start with the elephant in the room—or rather, the suspiciously absent necklace. Doug Williams III, grandson of the dearly departed Doug, nearly got caught red-handed with the purloined heirloom by Hope, instantly planting a seed of doubt in her mind. Hope, clearly not one to let things slide, spent the episode eyeing Doug III like a hawk, even as she grieved at Doug’s graveside. Her instincts, honed by years of Salem intrigue, seem to be screaming “trouble.” She even enlisted Jennifer to keep a close watch on the newcomer, setting the stage for what could be a juicy cat-and-mouse game.

Meanwhile, the Williams family, blissfully unaware of the brewing suspicion, celebrated Doug’s memory by opening a time capsule. The necklace, meant to be a centerpiece of the remembrance, became a glaring symbol of Doug III’s deception. The near-miss discovery by Lucas and Ciara added more tension to the family gathering, making me wonder when the truth will finally explode.

Elsewhere in Salem, Belle and Shawn’s divorce became official. Belle, armed with tissues and fortified by Marlena’s motherly support, broke the news to Claire, solidifying the couple’s separation.

Over at Titan Industries, the battle for control raged on. Philip and Xander locked horns, each vying for the top spot. Stephanie, proving to be a power player in her own right, firmly sided with Philip, rejecting Xander’s attempts to sway her with what amounted to a thinly veiled bribe. This power struggle looks set to be a major storyline in the coming weeks.

Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on Peacock.
