Let’s just say things aren’t exactly calm in Salem. This Wednesday’s “Days of Our Lives” throws gasoline on an already raging fire, with confrontations, near-misses, and enough emotional baggage to fill a cargo ship.
Cat Greene’s reunion with her mother, Catharina, goes south faster than a weekend trip with the in-laws. Catharina, packing heat and possibly taking orders from the ever-charming Clyde, decides that threatening Chad DiMera’s life is a perfectly reasonable way to spend an afternoon.
Meanwhile, Chad, no dummy, starts to wonder why JJ and Gabi are being so cagey. He decides to pay a little visit to the apartment where they’re digging up dirt on Catharina and searching for clues about Abigail’s remains. Timing, as they say, is everything, because Clyde chooses that exact moment to confront the dynamic duo.
What follows isn’t exactly a friendly chat over coffee. The showdown between Clyde, JJ, and Gabi escalates quickly, and just when you think it can’t get any worse, Chad bursts in. Amidst the chaos, a shot rings out, and Clyde might just end up with a new hole in his wardrobe before he can spill the beans about Abigail’s whereabouts.
As if things weren’t messy enough, Catharina waltzes into the apartment, gun in hand, ready to contribute to the general mayhem. This obviously does wonders for Cat’s emotional state, and Chad’s left picking up the pieces (again).
Elsewhere in Salem, Leo provides an unwelcome interruption to Javi Hernandez and Kerry’s date, reminding us that awkwardness is a renewable resource. Leo, seeking professional help (or perhaps just an audience), promptly books a session with Marlena.
Brady and Ava continue their slow-burn romance, making plans for an actual date. This, naturally, sends Belle into a mild panic, because who needs a relaxing evening when you can fret over your ex’s questionable romantic choices?
“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on Peacock.
