Salem’s celebrating Christmas, or at least some version of it, given the town’s usual penchant for melodrama. Let’s see what heartwarming, or more likely heart-wrenching, gifts this episode has in store.
Xander’s kicking things off with a little “bedroom cheer” for Sarah. Now that’s one way to spread holiday cheer. But after the afterglow fades, they’ll be joining the Horton clan for their annual ornament-hanging extravaganza. Let’s hope those ornaments are shatterproof; this family’s known to generate some tension.
Speaking of tension, Julie might finally confront Doug about his recent vanishing act and his general malaise. It’s about time someone addressed the elephant in the Horton living room.
Over at the pub, Tate’s throwing a surprise birthday bash for Holly. Expect a grand declaration of love, which, given this show’s track record, will likely be followed by some unforeseen catastrophe.
And then there’s the reconciliation nobody saw coming: Jack Deveraux offering Xander a full pardon. Apparently, all is forgiven. Now, they can go back to being frenemies, or whatever complicated relationship they have.
Meanwhile, Doug’s joining the ornament-hanging tradition. Always a recipe for heartwarming moments, unless, of course, someone spikes the eggnog. He’ll also be meeting Holly for the first time. Could this be the start of a new romance? Stranger things have happened in Salem. Though Holly’s still in the dark about Sophia’s pregnancy, a secret Tate’s desperately trying to keep under wraps.
As for Xander and Sarah, enjoy the fleeting happiness. Knowing “Days,” a storm’s brewing on the horizon.
“Days of Our Lives” streams weekdays on Peacock.
