Salem, the town where tranquility is as rare as a winning lottery ticket, is about to experience another round of dramatic upheaval. Friday’s episode of “Days of Our Lives” finds several storylines colliding, with potential for both heartwarming celebrations and disastrous consequences.

First up, Doug Williams, who recently found himself in a sticky situation involving a stolen necklace, may finally catch a break. Leo Stark, never one to shy away from a shady deal, appears to have secured the funds from the necklace’s sale, offering Doug a much-needed financial reprieve. However, knowing Salem, this temporary relief could quickly morph into a larger problem.

Elsewhere, young love is facing a potential roadblock. Holly Jonas might inadvertently expose Tate Black and Sophia Choi’s secret plan to skip town. Tate’s fabricated family visit story might not hold up under Holly’s scrutiny, putting their escape plans in jeopardy. Is a pregnancy the driving force behind their hasty exit? Salem viewers know such secrets rarely stay buried.

Amidst the potential chaos, a glimmer of hope shines as Jada Hunter and Rafe Hernandez take a concrete step toward marital bliss. Friday’s episode sees them officially setting a date for their wedding. But with Salem’s track record, smooth sailing is unlikely. A busy day at the police station for Jada hints at her involvement in various investigations, any of which could complicate wedding preparations. And then there’s the matter of EJ DiMera’s unwelcome houseguest, Arnold Feniger, whose stubborn refusal to vacate Salem could add fuel to the fire. Could Arnold be the wrench in Rafe and Jada’s plans?

EJ’s attempts to evict Arnold are expected to provide some much needed comic relief, but the underlying tension remains. Doug’s desperation, Tate and Sophia’s risky gamble, and Arnold’s disruptive presence all point to a turbulent week in Salem.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on Peacock.
