Days of Our Lives Key Art

Salem, the town where tranquility goes to die, finds itself in another delightful mess on Friday’s Days of Our Lives. Ava’s dramatic rescue from Kristen’s clutches takes a soapy turn, landing her in the hospital but not before revealing some key intel – Kristen’s mother’s involved, and someone’s being held hostage. As if that weren’t enough, Rachel’s stubborn refusal to set Rafe free lands her behind bars. Talk about a family reunion nobody wanted.

Meanwhile, Steve Johnson, never one to sit idle while Salem burns, is poking around, and his investigation is the catalyst for Rachel’s arrest. He might just be the key to unraveling Kristen’s whole scheme, which seems to involve more than just a touch of blackmail and a hidden room. And that vial Kristen’s been clutching? Turns out it might not be lethal after all. Amnesia, anyone?

Speaking of messy situations, Rafe’s pre-wedding dalliance with Nicole isn’t staying secret for long. Javi spills the beans to Jada, sending her straight into Shawn’s comforting arms. This could be awkward, considering Shawn’s involvement in the Rachel/Rafe mess. Let’s just say the truth about Rafe’s infidelity might come out sooner than later.

As for Rafe himself, he’s not having a good time. Trapped by EJ and Kristen, he’s facing a showdown at the Blake house that’s shaping up to be a classic “Days” chaotic explosion. One can only hope there’s enough hairspray and fake blood on hand for everyone.

And just because Salem can’t have too many simmering plots, Brady’s trying to convince Ava to keep mum about Rachel’s involvement in the Kristen debacle to save her from Child Protective Services. Good luck with that, Brady. In Salem, secrets have the lifespan of a fruit fly.

Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on Peacock.
